The Blue Ridge Parkway is a must if you are looking to explore Virginia and North Carolina. Is perfect for a day trip from Asheville or a long weekend. There are countless hidden gems, hiking trails, and amazing overlooks to catch a sunset or sunrise. Below are a couple of our favorite spots to camp and trails we’ve hiked:

Spots To Sleep:

Waterrock Knob Overlook

  • Check out the Waterrock Knob trail nearby!

Cowee Mountain Overlook

  • Checkout the Richland Balsam Nature Loop Trail. It’s a 1.4 mile loop and takes about an hour to finish! Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

Pounding Mill Overlook

  • Puts you in driving distance of Upper Log Hollow Falls!

  1. Mount Pisgah

  2. Cumberland Knob

    1. Gully Creek Trail

  3. Crab Tree Falls

    1. Scenic view at the end! It’s a 2.6 mile loop that takes about 1 hour to 90 minutes to complete.

  4. Black Balsam Knob and Tennet Mountain Loop

    1. Gorgeous 4.6 mile loop. Dogs are welcome and may be off leash.
